Along with a group of education, civic and business African American leaders, Tim King founded Urban Prep Academies in 2002 with the aim of increasing the number of young, Black males with a college degree. Since the first graduating class in 2010, 100% of Urban Prep's graduates have been admitted to four year colleges and universities.
